I am still on my gel polish journey and for the past few weeks have been trying out GelJunkie polishes. They were kind enough to send me 'Candy Pop' which is a bright pink, a base coat and a top coat, all wrapped lovely in a watermelon purse. How adorable!
So when I try out these new products I always like to try them on myself first, as well as swatching them on pops and playing with some designs on tips, just to see how well they work.
Once I have decided how I like them, I will introduce them to my clients and see if they are interested in trying any of the colours.
I think it will be easier if I show you some pictures of the polishes in all their glory and then explain a little bit more about the company.
These designs were created using Candy Pop as well as a lighter pink from my collection and a glitter polish. |
This set was done using Candy Pop only! |
When I went to purchase some more colours I noticed they have a 'mix' deal currently going on, on their website so I just had to take full advantage of it!
Mix 5 - 5 colours, base & top coat for £38 (code MIX5)
Mix 8 - 8 colours, base & top coat for £50 (code MIX8)
Mix 32 - 32 colours, base & top coat + carrying case for £175 (code MIX32)
After hours of debating back and forth with myself (choosing new colours is always impossible when you want them all!) I got my hands on 8 which I know is a bit of an investment considering I had only tried one for a few days at this point but I could already tell I absolutely loved the formula, colour range and the longevity.
I had done my nails using Candy Pop and a week later I forgot I even did them! I'm so used to the polish going tatty, dull and chipping in the first few days but this product was not budging! I was actually gutted when I decided to remove it but I wanted to give some other colours a try. The same thing happened with Sneaky Peak - I was shocked at the growth you could see at my cuticle area but there were no signs of lifting or chipping!
The colours I got are;
Riviera Grey - brown/grey
Billy & Bo - deep blue
Mint Monkey - mint haha
Beach Bum - lilac purple
Jaffa - neon orange
Delilah - hot red
Sneaky Peak - nude
Pow - white
The ones without names are Candy Pop (pink) & Riviera Grey (brown/grey) |
I absolutely loved receiving this package because the colours looked so satisfying lay next to each other, it was like a rainbow!
They send all packages in white GelJunkie boxes, wrap the bottles in GelJunkie tissue paper and include a information card, the one that came in this package was advertising the mix deal which is why I didn't include a picture :)
I did 2 sets on myself;
This set is using Sneaky Peak! |
This set is using Billy & Bo and Pow to decorate! |
This set is using Riviera Grey! |
This set is using Delilah! |
They currently have 32 colours available, as well as their base and top coat, with 40 new colours launching next week (which they will be doing teasers over on their social media all week, I will link them at the end). This launch is going to be so exciting because they are launching a range of finishes as well as colours, which is the part I am so ready for, I need more glitter polishes!
Their packaging is by far my favourite! I was searching for a company with bottles the same colour as the polish because it is so much easier for the client (or yourself) to choose when you cant decide rather than having them all on swatch pops and then searching through a draw for 20 minutes trying to find the name! - that brings me on to the only thing I wish this bottle had and that is the colour name. I am such a massive fan of being able to tell the name on the polish rather than looking through my swatch pops to find the name, I think its just a personal preference thing really.
The bottles have white lids and white writing which to me just makes them so much brighter and more appealing. I understand some people like black because they look classy and sophisticated but I much prefer a nice bright white!
They are always offering different discount codes or offers (such as the Mix offer) so make sure you are following their social media or signed up to their newsletter!
I think a bonus feature of GelJunkie is their customer service, it's incredible! I have never dealt with customer service like it before in my life! They are genuinely nice people who care about your passion and your wellbeing, as well as how satisfied you are with their products.
The company is based in London and haven't been running long from what I can see however, their drive, ambition and creativity is incredibly and they will be reaching for the stars soon!
I can genuinely see big things happening for this company and that is just my personal opinion :)
