9 Random Netflix Favourites | January 2018

We all have that one person in the family who actually pays for Netflix and everyone just piggy-backs off of them... I am that person haha
I don't mind because I absolutely love Netflix and am blessed to have a Smart TV which actually has a Netflix button on the remote (I was fascinated when I first saw it!).
So lets be honest, there is a crap ton of bulls*** on Netflix 100% of the time and it could take weeks of digging to find a gem. In today's post I will be sharing my 'gems' with you & granted they might not be for everyone but this is what I love to watch.

1. Myth Busters
I think the main reason I love Myth Busters is because I did Production Arts at college so being in a workshop, being creative and coming up with experiments really speaks to me. It is a lot of fun to watch, there are some myths that I had never heard of but majority were ones I was excited to see the outcome. I love how they explain everything thoroughly and even show drawing/animated versions of what they are attempting to create in order for it to be easily understood. The hosts are hilarious and I think its a great show to get people interested in production and creation.
Seasons : 2
Episodes : 40
Star Rating : 4 3/4

2. Home
This one is for my readers with an inner child. Home is a cartoon based on the film Home, the purple alien has adventures with his best friend Tiff and bla bla bla. The main reason I love watching this is because there are always so many catchy songs! I end up singing them all day and having to watch the episode again. Tiff, the main, girl character can really sing, so she's up there acting like Beyonce and I am just living for it.
They also have a sassy mom character who resembles everything I want to be when I am a mom. Plus the aliens speak in a different way (still english don't worry!) and sometimes it really makes me laugh the way they form the sentences - easily pleased I know.
Seasons : 3
Episodes : 39
Star Rating : 5

3. 72 Dangerous Animals Australia/Latin America
Okay so, one thing I am obsessed with is nature programmes/documentaries. I cant stand watching animals die or 'mother nature take its course' as some people call it (animals eating other animals/hunting) BUT I do bloody love a good series/documentary about animals/nature/the sea. This series is based in Australia (obviously) and each episode shows you 6 new 'deadly' animals, they then rank these animals from 1 - 6 on the deadliest scale, then at the end they have an overall ranking of deadliest where they take the top ones from each episode and put those in order of deadliest. When they show you the animals, they also speak with professionals, people who have encountered these animals before and it tells you the dangers of them and how to avoid them when possible. Others I love in this category are 'Why Sharks Attack' and 'Sea Monsters - Walking With Dinosaurs', there is also a '72 Dangerous Places To Live'.
Seasons : 1
Episodes : 12
Star Rating : 3

4. Penn & Teller - Fool us
This one I have to give credit to Kyran for, he has loved magic for a long time and used to love Dynamo, so when he saw this was on Netflix he really wanted to watch it. It is basically a competition, magicians go on the show to see if their magic trick can 'fool' Penn & Teller. Considering Penn & Teller are amazing magicians and have been doing magic shows for many years, you can imagine it is pretty difficult to fool them however, 3 seasons in and many have. If they successfully fool the guys, they win a place in their show in Las Vegas... pretty cool!
Seasons : 2
Episodes : 22
Star Rating : 3

5. Forensic Files
Now I know everyone loves a good mystery programme, where it tells you someone died and then throughout the episode they piece together how, when, where and why. This specific one I can watch for hours upon hours because there are sooo many episodes! I also always try and figure out the puzzle before the end of the episode just to see if I am right haha. I think it is truly amazing what forensic science has done in terms of investigations and how far it has advanced in the last 10 years, I have always been fascinated with forensic science and shows like CSI or NCIS. While this programme isn't like those because they are based on real cases, real people, it still gets your mind working in the same way.
Seasons : 9
Episodes : 376
Star Rating : 4 1/2

6. Mako Mermaids
Again, this is one for my inner child. I absolutely love mermaids and entertain the idea that maybe, just maybe, they exist somewhere in the world. This programme is the Netflix spin-off of H20: Just Add Water (which was also available on Netflix for a while but I haven't seen it lately, it could be worth a search too!) and is about a trio of mermaids who have to become 'land people' to save their 'pod' (family), there then happens to be a bunch of land people who become mermaids in the process. I am really not selling this but if you liked H20 or like mermaids then give this a watch!
Seasons : 4
Episodes : 68
Star Rating : 4 1/2

7. Rick & Morty
This one...
This programme has to be my favourite thing in the world right now, does anyone else get obsessed with a series and just want all the merch possible & cannot stand waiting for the next episode?
I love this cartoon/animation because it is basically for adults! It has swearing, alcohol abuse (drunken grandpa), its hilarious and has dirty jokes... you just need to watch it!
This is a relatively new series so as it grows in popularity they are playing on it, hence why they are only releasing a new episode every Sunday :(
If you take anything away from this post, please take this. Take this suggestion and run to your laptop/TV and give it a shot, you will love it!
Seasons : 3
Episodes : 25
Star Rating : 5

8. Friends
Who doesn't love Friends!
I actually don't know a single person who doesn't like friends. My boyfriend wasn't the biggest fan or just wasn't really interested until we moved into our new house and got Sky, it is on my TV constantly because its always showing on Comedy Central but then they put all 10 seasons on Netflix and my life was complete!
Seasons : 10
Episodes : 24 per Season
Star Rating : 5

9.Ru Paul's Drag Race
I absolutely love Drag Queens. Their attitude towards life and their levels of sass, their creativity and skill is incredible to me. I love watching people be creative and grow, I also love seeing people get constructive criticism and work on it, develop whatever it is that needs tweaking and seeing them from beginning to end is amazing. If you are like me and love makeup, hair, beauty, fashion and sass then you will absolutely love this!
Seasons : 8
Episodes : 14 per Season
Star Rating : 3

I hope you have a great day or night, where ever you are.
