I managed to convince my friend Kirsty to let me practice on her. I had a bunch of new Candy Coat products that I wanted to try out and she was more than happy to be my guinnea pig.
I realise they are not all the same shape, she did love the shape of her nails however a few had broken just prior to her appointment and she wanted to keep the unbroken ones the shape they were.
I did basic nail prep such as cuticle work, filing, buffing, and cleaning.
I then applied Tight Bond and let it air dry, then the base coat, curing for 2 minutes in my UV lamp.
We then decided that because a couple of her nails were broken, to apply a layer of Super Strength treatment which also needed curing for 2 minutes.
I then applied the colour she had chosen which was Blue Sky A90 which I bought on Amazon. I applied 3 thin layers of colour to all nails apart from the ring finger, I applied 1 layer to those as Kirsty wanted an accent glitter nail. Each layer was cured for 2 minutes in my lamp.
I then applied 2 coats of the EverBeautyLand 17620 (which is an incredibly opaque, silvery/multi colour glitter) & also cured each coat for 2 minutes.
Kirsty decided that she wanted the colour nails matte and the glitter nails shiny, so I applied the Matte Top Coat from Candy Coat to all the colour nails and the Blue Sky Top Coat to the glitter nails & cured for 2 minutes.
Using Mylee prep and clean and a lint free wipe to take off the sticky layer left behind after the top coats, I then finished with the Cuticle Glaze by Candy Coat, which is a sweet smelling Cuticle oil to hydrate her fingers again.
Overall she seemed very pleased and even though I was nervous to begin with I was happy with the outcome. After taking pictures and studying them a little closely, I found mistakes and areas I need to improve on.
Hopefully the more I practice the better and more confident I will get.
I hope you have a great day or night where ever you are.
Emm xx
